U. Roberto Romano, Director, Cinematographer, Producer
U. Roberto Romano is an award winning photographer, filmmaker, and human rights educator. He has worked on human rights projects with such organizations as GoodWeave, Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch, The International Labor Organization, Stop the Traffik, The Hunger Project, and The Council on Foreign Relations, among others. His film credits include: Dark Side of Chocolate (Director of Photography) about slavery in the West Africa cocoa trade; Stolen Childhoods (Producer, Director, and Director of Photography) about child labor. His powerful photography has been published in many prestigious newspapers and magazines and has been featured in many galleries and shows.
Albie Hecht and Susan MacLaury, Executive Producers
The Academy Award‐nominated husband and wife team are the co‐founders and driving force behind the non‐profit production company Shine Global and Emmy winners for its first film, WAR DANCE. Albie is the former president of entertainment for Nickelodeon and Spike TV. He is currently president of Worldwide Biggies, a transmedia company he founded. Susan is the Executive Director of Shine Global. She is dually degreed in social work and health education and also teaches at Kean University.
Eva Longoria, Executive Producer
Entrepreneur and philanthropist, “Desperate Housewives” star Eva Longoria is the founder of Eva’s Heroes, as well as the national spokesperson for Padres Contra el Cancer. The face for L’Oreal, Longoria is an executive producer and host for the National Council of La Raza ALMA Awards, as well as executive producer and director of the documentary YO SUMO. Longoria is involved with the United Farm Workers, the Dolores Huerta Foundation, the Mexican American Legal Defense and Education Fund, and Speaker Pelosi selected her for the National Museum of the American Latino Commission. Longoria owns BESO restaurants, her own production company, UnbeliEVAble Productions, an eco‐friendly development firm, The GreenVille Project, has her own fragrance EVA, by Eva Longoria, and has a cookbook Eva’s Kitchen: Cooking with Love for Family and Friends , available April 2011.
Rory O’Connor, Producer
Documentary filmmaker and journalist Rory O’Connor is co‐founder and president of the international media firm Globalvision, Inc, and The Global Center, an affiliated non‐profit educational foundation. He has directed, written and/or produced numerous films and television programs, and served as an executive in charge of three weekly television series, South Africa Now, Rights & Wrongs: Human Rights Television (PBS), and Children First (ABC).
